Dallas College - Brookhaven Unveils New Early College Center

On April 23, Dallas College celebrated the official opening of the Early College Center at its Brookhaven campus with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event brought together district officials, community members, partners and students, to celebrate the new facility.

The center was designed specifically to enhance the existing dual credit programs offered in partnership with CFBISD and Dallas ISD. Recognizing the increasing enrollment in these programs, Dallas College prioritized creating a dedicated space to nurture the academic success of participating students.

Dr. Christa Slejko, President of Dallas College, led the ceremony with opening remarks and introductions of distinguished speakers, including Dr. Wendy Eldredge, Superintendent of CFBISD, and Mr. Timothy Isaly, Principal of Early College High School.

“It is truly amazing to see such an incredible space designed so intentionally to benefit our students,” Eldredge said. “I’m so excited for all of the learning opportunities this new facility will bring and am thankful for CFB’s continued partnership with Dallas College.”

Following the ribbon cutting, attendees could choose to participate in self-guided or group tours, exploring the expansive new facilities. Spanning more than 43,000 square feet, the Early College Center addition boasts 11 new classrooms, 3 science labs, 6 collaboration spaces, administrative offices for both CFBISD and dual credit programs, student common areas, a welcoming reception area, a dedicated nurses suite, computer lab and a designated lunch space.

This significant expansion reflects Dallas College's commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for students pursuing dual credit opportunities. The new Early College Center will serve ECHS students on their academic journey for years to come.
